Mallur is a town in Salem district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Thursday Market is popular for buying and selling fresh produces grown in Mallur as well as neighbouring villages In the heart of the town located Kamatchi Amman Temple, Mariamman Temple, Eswaran Temple is located on the "Sunai Karadu" which is famous for its natural flow of water. The college is about 11.5 km from Salem new bustand,2 km from mallur and 6.5 km south of salem city limit. It has one of the best schools for the higher secondary education. The water theme park "paravasa ulagam" is located near mallur. The Government has sanctioned to lay 4 lane road. NH7 which is the longest National highway in INDIA bisects the village. The new road will reduce the traffic through the village. Mallur is situated at a distance of 554.5 km from Salem and 13.5 km from Rasipuram.The town is located near several mountain ranges. Mallur is surrounded by numerous bricks chambers which is a source of direct & indirect employment and also it is famous for the Spiced puffed rice.
